Good morning! We have some exciting news, especially about the big social media names coming to ecommerce. TikTok has plans, and Amazon has their own answer using Snapchat and Meta. Get to know also why return policies matter still matter. You might be overlooking them!
TikTok wants its own fulfillment center
🏭️ New moves: TikTok is trying to get its own fulfillment center that could let it store, pick, pack and ship products from its popular TikTok shop.
📦️ Some details: Specifically, it wants international warehousing (for storing at the global level), customs clearings (for the procedure behind import/export) and supply chain systems (for the distribution). Part of its logistics could also be outsourced to companies like Shipbob and Newegg.
Sellers would love this move:

It’s not all good though. TikTok Shop was recently banned in Indonesia and most US citizens hate the app too.
You can now buy on Amazon from Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram
⚡️ Going social: Amazon is powering up with social media shopping. Despite TikTok Shop’s ban in some countries, Amazon is still going down that route, thought at a different angle. Some things to know about social media buyers are:
48% of social media users make an impulse buy on that social media
60% of these are both Millenials and Gen Z
👻 Snapchat strat: Amazon and Snapchat have partnered up where you can buy Amazon products directly from Snapchat app ads. Amazon also lets Snapchat users try on virtual eyewear from different partnered brands.
📸 Meta moves: Meta also lets you link Facebook and Instagram accounts to Amazon. This allows you to check out on the apps without actually leaving the platform.
Return policies matter
💚 The good stuff: When it comes to online shopping, 84% of smart shoppers check out the return policy first. What makes them click that "buy" button? Ideally, it would be free returns (82%) and quick refunds (72%). Another secret on the industry? If a store makes returns easier, 92% of users will become repeat customers.
💳️ Dirty chargebacks: They also prevent a bigger problem: chargebacks. It’s where a refund is issued by the bank, meaning the customer keeps both the product and the refunded money. Almost 80% of all chargebacks are actually fraud.
