Temu enters the Philippines

🌏️ Temu taking over: The Philippines, the 3rd largest ecommerce market in South East Asia, has a new player in town. Temu is an online shopping store owned by PDD Holdings Inc. that is currently kicking of its Southeast Asia expansion, with the Philippines being its first step. The Philippines was a prime first location for Temu because of its established cross border fulfillment infrastructure and its English language.

👜 An ecommerce price war: Temu is known for its outrageously low prices and discounts, giving competitors trouble in the pricing game. In fact, for its expansion to the Philippines, Temu will be offering discounts of up to 90% on select items. Competition here in the country, even with Lazada and Shopee, is about to heat up and a price war could be in the making.
