Scammers are using Telegram to sell phishing courses and tools
Guardio Labs has discovered that cybercriminals transformed Telegram channels and groups into a scammers paradise and a breeding ground for phishing.
On Telegram's dark markets, scammers can buy training courses on how to impersonate a national bank and launch phishing scams for $230 according to Inacom.
It includes access to malicious tools, stolen data sets, and services to help them impersonate businesses.
Telegram groups act like online marketplaces full of cybercriminals, both seasoned and new. These groups offer things like:
Phishing kits which are like pre-made websites designed to steal your personal information.
Stolen data where scammers use the data to personalize emails, making them appear to come from a legitimate source like your bank or credit card company.
This means that Telegram’s 800 million monthly users give scammers access to a massive reach.
