It now costs $3 to remove ads on Amazon Prime Video

In the old days, Amazon Prime Video used to cost $8.99 per month for Prime Video or $14.99 for Prime subscribers.

Now, if you want an ads free Amazon Prime Video experience, then you need to pay an extra $3 on top of the subscription.

That’s a lot of revenue for the trillion dollar company. EntrepriseAppsToday says that Amazon Prime Video has more than 100 million users around the world.

Amazon promised that there would be less ads than regular TV programs and other streaming platforms, although the exact number wasn’t stated. This new (and default) model is already rolled out in the US, Canada, Germany and the UK and will soon hit Spain, Australia, France, Mexico and Italy.

The end of ad free streaming could be the new norm too after Netflix, Disney+ and Paramount+ introduced ads/commercials as part of some of their cheaper packages.
