AI streamers take over Single’s Day
Single’s Day is time where shopping promos take over online platforms in China. For Single’s Day 2023, the focus was on AI tech and luxury goods.
AI and gamification were everywhere for brands.
What makes AI influencers worth the hype? They’re much easier and cheaper to set up. They also have the benefit of being active and optimal 24/7, a move that boosted GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) by 30%

YouTube Shorts is testing shopping too
YouTube is testing shopping on its Shorts feature. Its currently being piloted and is most likely to debut in 2024 for the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil and India.
Creators, in this so called “Partner Program” will be getting 45% of the ad revenue share and is experimenting on an affiliate program too. In comparison, TikTok and Meta have a 50% commission for their creators on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.

Philippine startup etaily raises $17.8M

💵 Millions on millions: Funded by companies like SKS Capital, ICCP SBI Fund and Kaya Founders, the $17.8M will be used to boost its power in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. They already completed 10 million orders on Lazada, Shopee and their portfolio includes brands like Sketchers and Crocs
