Amazon invests $2.7 billion on...the new king of AI?
🤖 Meet Anthropic
Amazon is taking a gamble on AI dominance by investing an additional $2.75 billion into Anthropic.
Anthropic is an AI startup founded by ex-OpenAI researchers who created the chatbot named Claude 3.
It’s said to outperform ChatGPT and Google's Gemini on industry benchmark tests.
🎁 What makes Claude 3 so special
Summarize massive amounts of information, (like a 150,000 word book vs ChatGPT's 3000 word limit).
Can handle images and documents
Benchmark tests suggest Claude 3 might be the top dog in the AI assistant arena
Anthropic will use AWS's computing muscle to train and run Claude 3 and its other AI models.
📝 Use cases
AWS customers will get exclusive access to their AI tools through a service called Bedrock. Companies of all sizes can jump right in and build AI applications for themselves
Customer service like answering your customers' questions quickly and accurately, even during live chats (and even translate languages).
Check content like identifying risks and flagging them for review.
Makes operations run smoother and saves cash by sorting logistics and inventory
Google gets new tools for shoppers
🔎 Google’s new shopping tools
Google is debuting features that will learn your preferences and suggest clothes you'll love.
Here's how it works:
Style Recommendations: No more generic search results. Google will now suggest clothes and accessories based on your past browsing habits and what you've liked before.
It’s similar to the thumbs up, thumbs down system of Netflix. The more you interact, the better Google gets at understanding your taste.
Brand Love: Got a favorite brand? No more going through options you're not interested in.
You can tell Google which brands you like, and it will prioritize those in your search results.
The Power of AI: Google is even experimenting with AI to generate new clothing options based on your preferences.
Like searching for a dress, and then having Google create brand new photorealistic images of similar dresses you might like.

🧊 Staying cool
Curbside pickup and grocery delivery are booming, with 52% of online grocery sales being fulfilled by pickup instead of delivery.
That’s why ShopRite is adding cooling totes to make their grocery experience even better.
Instead of ice packs and separate cooler bags. ShopRite has started using freezer and refrigerator totes created by Phononic.
ShopRite is the first U.S. grocer to use this system!
Within a single tote. Phononic's tech keeps frozen items solid and meats perfectly chilled.
🩹 Pain Point solved:
This means no more juggling separate bags or worrying if the ice will melt during travel.
🏆️ Win-win for everyone
These totes are also good for saving space. ShopRite has seen a 70% reduction in their staging room size, without hurting the number of orders or speed.
ShopRite can also track how often the totes are used, how well they keep things cold, and even how much energy they use.
The data helps ShopRite make sure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
