Amazon India launches program for people with learning disabilities
🇮🇳 Amazon Aurora: Amazon India has just launched Aurora, a program which provides employment for people with learning disabilities. More specifically, they give tailored job opportunities and upskill training for employees with autism and intellectual disabilities. They aim to empower 500 young adults in 5 years through their program.
🇺🇸 Tablets for all: In the US, Amazon is also doing a similar movement. Amazon donated 5000 Echo Show and Fire tablets to 600 locations to improve the quality of life and aid in independent living.
“Autonomy, entertainment, education, inclusion—these are essentials of a meaningful life, and they continue to be out of reach for many people with IDD. Together, we can help close the digital divide and help people with IDD fully participate in society in ways many of us take for granted.”
