Social media shopping (or social commerce) has taken the industry by storm especially with TikTok and Instagram Shop.
🔴 The bad: Americans, however, are having trust issues with these apps. According to a AiBuy survey, most Gen Zs and Millennials worry about:
57% on sharing check out info
55% are concerned about fake/low quality products
46% for unclear return policies
38% because of a lack of customer reviews
25% because the products were made at home
🟢 The good: It’s not all negative though. 29% said that social commerce is more personalized than the regular ecommerce experience. What is most motivating for social commerce is:
Discounts (according to 27%)
Interest based ads (21%)
Lowest priced options (23%)
